Scary Movie 5 is the first installment of the franchise not to feature Cindy Campbell (played by Anna Faris) or Brenda Meeks (Regina Hall). Itpremiered on April 11, at the Hollywood’s ArcLight Cinerama Dome The film parodies various horror films and other popular culture such as the novel Fifty Shades of Grey and Tyler Perry's character Madea. The film received almost universally negative reviews, and opened at #2 in the box office behind the Jackie Robinson biopic 42.
